Summary
  Light, still hugging Misa, thinks to himself that after he uses Misa by killing L, he will just kill her off as well. Misa, after repeating Light’s line, asks to see Ryuk, which Light lets her do. She introduces herself to Ryuk, and already starts to call Light “Light”. When Light comments on this, she tells him she call him a “knight” if he would like, to which Light agrees to his first name instead. Back at the police station, L is reviewing the video tapes at Aoyama since the chances of Kira meeting the second Kira is highly likely. Furthermore, Light should be monitered, even with a 1/1000 chance of him being Kira, because if he was, the chances that the second Kira would make contact with him would be likely. In Light’s room, Misa tells Light about Jealous and Shinigami falling in love. Light asks about the video tapes, and tells her to dispose of all the video preparations, and tommorow, when she sends the reply, she should thank the police, saying that she will cooperate with Kira and distribute the same power to people who were worthy. He also tells her that if she is caught by the police, never tell them anything about himself or the note. Misa understands this and tells Light that since everything is established, he should meet her on minimum of once a week, but Light tells her it is impossible since L suspects him. Misa is suprised by this, and Light tells him that he already has contacted L, but does not know his name. Thus, Light must play around in order to be in the investigation, and he can’t take Misa to meet with L, since he is always watched, and suspicion will deepen, especially if they are intimate. Thus, Misa needs to figure out how to see L without him knowing of her existance. Furthermore, he would have to see other girls in order to take suspicion off of her. Misa, of course, objects to this, but Light sweet talks her and tells her that he likes her better than anyone else and would establish a peaceful world together. Moreover, Light says that they just met, but Misa tells him that she fell in love with him at first sight, to which Ryuk is amused.
  Light then tells her that if he likes her, then she should obey him, and if she doesn’t he would kill her. At that moment, however, Rem tells him that if he kills her, or she dies before her time, she will kill Light, even if it means death for herself. There is a knock at the door, and Light’s mother tells Misa she better go if she was to catch the train. After she leaves, Light knows that he has to protect her, or else he himself could die. Misa tells Rem that Light is pretty cool, and she shouldn’t really kill him. Back at home, Light reviews everything, and deduces that she is really troublesome. Then, on the computer, he realizes that she is a model, and he has to think of a way to use Misa’s eyes to kill L. The next morning, Light tells his mother and sister to keep Misa a secret from everyone, since she is a model and it would be bad if people knew.
  At school, Light thinks to himself about L’s reaction to the tape Misa would send. Beside him, a classmate, Takada, asks him about going out with her. Light mentions that she is “Miss Todai” and sweet talks her, saying that she is really beautiful, which she obviously likes, and Light knows this too. Above the classroom, a person is seen watching them. At the police station, L tells Light that they recieved a message from the second Kira, which states everything that Light told her to say. L is disappointed, since it means that Kira and second Kira must have made contact since the second Kira no longer talks about meeting Kira, and Kira probably told the second Kira to hide the fact that they made contact. The connection itself is pretty threathening, and it reduces the likelihood that Light is Kira, since Kira did not ask the second Kira to demand to see L on T.V. in order to kill him. However, at this, Light tells L that if he were Kira he would not do that, to which L questions his comment. He continues on to say that knowing L, L would find a way out of coming on the telivision, always thinking of a way to escape. L confirms this, knowing this. Yagami objects to Light putting himself in Kira’s shoes, but Light says that it is okay, since he is not Kira, and wants to tell L what he really thinks. L tells Light that it would actually be troublesome if Light were Kira, since he is his first friend, catching him off guard. Light returns the feeling, saying that L is his best friend, and in college he misses playing tennis with him. On the way home, Ryuk comments on being his friend. Light tells Ryuk that L easily figured out the second Kira and Kira’s connection, making it more dangerous to meet Misa. Right at that line, Light is suddenly jumped on by Misa, who tells him that she couldn’t wait another day to see him. Light thinks to himself that this is the first time since he was born, that he really wanted to hit a girl. Misa tries to explain herself, but Light tells her to come to his house, taking her up to his room. Light tells Rem, as Misa’s ally, she must know that Light’s happiness is also Misa’s. Hence, he asks Misa to ask Rem to kill L, and when L is caught, they can both be happy. Ryuk comes in to say that whether or not, if Rem does this, she might die, and Light also acknowledges this. Misa turns to Rem, and asks Rem, who agrees, saying that L is nothing to her, and she won’t die in this case. Therefore, she will kill L, and Light is a bit suprised how easy killing L actually turned out to be.
