Summary
We see the Shinigami world, desolate and dry. The Shinigami are talking about Ryuk and how he supposedly had two Death Note’s. Back to Light’s room, Light blatently refuses Ryuk, since he wants to live long as a God, and there would be no use if he died so early. Ryuk is a bit amazed at this, since Light is not scared of Shinigami, and is direct with him. He jokingly says that it would be great to fly though, since then he would really be godlike. Ryuk then goes on to tell Light that he is much better than a Shinigami since he works and isn’t so boring and nothing to do. Light says he doesn’t like being compared to a shinigami, but that a shinigami isn’t so meaningless since when Ryuk came down it changed the course of the human world so much. Light tells Ryuk that he is a pretty optimistic person. Light just says he is going to change the world, and looking at his Death Note gets an idea of how to find out the name of the person who was following him. He looks on the internet for surrounding information.
At the police headquarters, 3 people died in very weird ways. L contemplates over this while Watari pops up on his computer screen telling him about some other three people who died in not a normal way from heart attacks. L thinks that this means that he can truely control the way they act before their deaths. He tells the police this, saying that Kira is expirementing with the criminals, but he keeps trying to think why. Back at Light’s room, Light pulls up the new information of the criminals, saying that it was as he expected, and that the Death Note cannot do the impossible. The way they die must be plausible and reasonable within their thinkings. Light says that for now, the police and L will be too busy with the recent deaths to concern themselves with what he will do with this information. To see the details of the death, they can be read at chapter 6’s summary. L looks over this, and knows there ther must be something else, and also that the message in one of the criminal’s notes “L do you know…”. Some time later, Light tells Ryuk that he is quite popular and asks a girl out that morning.
In the morning, as the person is still tailing Light, Light takes the girl on the bus for a date. They talk a bit. Then, some time later, a criminal shows up by the name of Osoreda who just escaped from prison. He hijacks the bus and tells the driver to call spaceland to tell them to hand over the money two stops from Space Land. Light writes a note to his date (Yuri) saying that he’ll look for a change to knock the gun out of his hand. The stalker looks from behind and tells Light it’s too dangerous, and Light says that he doesn’t trust him because he might be an accomplish. Thus, the follower thinks that he has no choice and hands over his ID with his name. Light sees it, astonished that he is an FBI agent “Ray Penbar.” Light agrees. He writes something a piece of paper and sticks it into his pocket. It drops out and then the criminal walks towards it, thinking it was a note to the other passengers. But, it just turns out to say something about a bus stop. Then, suddenly, when the criminal turns around he starts yelling to someone, and it’s actually Ryuk. Ryuk is astonished that he can actually see him, and the man fires his gun towards him, while Penbar thinks that he is actually hallucinating. Since the bullets can’t hurt Ryuk, he walks towards him, and the hijacker tells the driver to stop the bus, rushing out to the middle of the road, only to be hit by a car. The Death Note is right on time, as he dies at 11:45 with conditions that Light specified to control him. When they get off of the bus, Yuri-Chan says she still wants to go to Spaceland.

Differences

  • Nothing really major here.

Ideas

  • It was really fun to see the bus hijacker scene in action, there was a lot of movement because of the moving bus. Alot of action.
