Summary
  The Episode continues with Light following Maki Shoko as they continue there walk, devising a plan to stop her regardless of how she figured out Kiras secret. Light suddenly agrees to use her theory for the investigation. Ryuk laughs a bit, then Light pulls out a piece of paper and a pencil…A piece of the Death note, feins writing the date of the busjacking on it. He instead writes that Maki Shoko will commit suicide on January first, and her body wont be found for a while. Ryuk starts that unnerving laughter again.
  The scene moves to L’s hotel room, and he immediatly explains that Kira is not among them. A colllective sigh of relief passes. He explains that he has prepared a series of tricks to find out if one of them was Kira or not, and did not have to use them. His cell phone begins to ring. It is Watari.
  Back to Light. He puts the paper in his pocket and offers to pass the message on. However, she declines, and insists on seeing L herself. Counting down to the time of her death, he continues to walk with her. The seconds pass the time alloted…and nothing happens, much to Lights suprise and Dismay. Ryuk starts laughing again…Light finally realises she gave him a fake name.
  Watari enters L’s hotel, and is revelaed to be a grey haired old man, much to the suprise, again, of the task force. He explains that if he wore his normal attire, anyone could figure out Ryuzzaki was there. He then holds up a briefcase of new police ID’s for the task force.
  Light now tries to devise a new plan to find her real name. She suggests going back to headquarters, and Lights time grows short. He has no choise other than to agree to it. he starts to panic, as he remembers if his father called he would answer…then realizes he can just turn his phone off. After minutes of Light angsting and trying to think of a plan, Ryuk offers his eyes again…Light declines. Half his life span for this woman? The woman speaks, offering to go by herself.
  The ID’s Watari brought have there pictures, but not the same names. He warns not to accidentially pull the fake ones out at headquarters. Watari opens another briefcase, holding special belts for each of them. if they push the buckle, it will call watari’s cell phone in case of emergencies or to verify L’s whereabouts.
  The woman thanks Light for his advice, and begins to leave. He begins panicking again, trying to hurridly figure out a way to find her name. He has only 5 minutes to do so….he catches up to her, and starts to tell her that she could not possibly talk to anyone directly at headquarters…for thier safety. She askes why he knows so much about all this. He tells her he is a member of the investigation. He explains that L was in a pinch, and due to Lights help in previous cases, L asked him to join the team. He says that people on the team are only those closely trusted by L. she still insists on going to Headquarters.
  L asks who is at headquarters…No one. He says one person should always be there, and Aizawa is chosen to go.
  Light insists that she cannot talk to L, as he looks at the headquarters directly infront of them. But she explains that she ones worked under L, and that until 3 months ago, she was an FBI agent. Light sees an opening. He says he wants to learn from her. She explains that L is the only one she can trust. But that Light reminds her of L. after a moment of silence, he asks if she wants to find Kira together, if she would liketo join the team. The scene shows aizawa leaving to the station as L speaks…Light says that they need people like her….saying she shouldn’t act as an informant, but an investigator that is better than the current ones, and that L trusts her. He says that all is required to join is an ID check, and L’s approval. He offers to reccomend her as Aizawa begins to walk towards the headquarters. He says that it would be on her terms that she investigated, that she probably had other commitments, and she lived in america…after her telling him she didn’t know what to do now that Raye was dead…he pushes a step back. “But your still young and beautiful.” Implying that she has alot to live for, and that joining the team could cost her life. She feverantly says she has nohing to lose, and agrees to join…Ryuk begins laughing madly, seeing light so close to fullfilling his task. Light asks for her Identification, and she admits to using a fake name…He isnt suprised, it is a smart move with Kira around, he says she is “a step above him”, improving his respect for her. She asks if a drivers lisence is ok, she pulls it out and hands it to him as a single snow flake falls in the background…Aizawa puts up his uimbrella just befor he passes the two, and can see light is there. He shades his own view of them as Light looks at the ID, and writes Misora Naomi’s suicide into the death note page. More snow begins to fall. He checks his watch. Naomi asks why….and just before 1:45, the time she decides to go to a secluded place and commit suicide…He reveals to her that he is Kira. She begins to walk away, and says there is someting she has to do… He smugly asks tells her his fathers cell is on,and if she would like to talk to him, and she says she has nothing to say to him, and continues to walk to her death, the note taking affect on her. The episode ends with an image of her walking to a beam with a noose on it. “Sayonoara, Misora Naomi-san” are the last words spoken in this episode.
