Summary
It begins with L and the task force reviewing the tapes of all of the deaths of the FBI agents. L asks to look at the one of Raye Penbar. As one of the investigation members reads what happened to raye, L exclaims that something about that was odd. He points out that when Raye got on the train first, he had an envelope, when in the footage of his death…it was gone. Also, the last footage of his death, he seemed to be “desperately trying to look into the train”. The investigation team starts to wonder if it was Kira or not.
The scene moves to Lights home, Ryuk asking Light if he is Ok. He hasnt slept in days, and spent all four of those days writing criminals names in the death note, echeduling the deaths in advance. Light explains that if he does this, if something happens to him the deaths wont just stop, and he will not be under suspicion.
Watari gets a call from Ukita at the headquarters who says he is on the line with someone with very interesting information. L tells them to transfer the number to line 5, then tells one of the investigation members to turn his cell on. It rings, and L answers it. The person says something about Raye Penbars Fiancee, naomi misora, and he remembers she had been a wonderful agent while working a case under him. She has dissapeared, and one of them thinks its suicide…But L knew her better, and said she was stronger than that. He came to the conclusion that she had information, and that Kira might have gotten to her first….He decides to narrow the search to those Raye was investigating. Deputy Directive genereal Kitamura’s family…and Yagami’s family. He wants to hide bugs and cameras in thies homes.
Light is cleaning his computer, so that no one can find out what he has been looking at. He decides to hide a piece of the death note in his wallet. Ryuk comments that his ability to sew might make him popular with the ladies….Light says its all got to do with looks. “Your not popular with the ladies, ryuk?”
The investigation team protests the bugs and cameras, saying it is a violation of human rights. L says the percent of Kira being in one of those homes is 5 percent. “How can we go so far just for 5 percent?” one of them says. Yagami says that even one percent is worth going so far for. Yagami insists on going the whole way. Bugs and cameras in the bathrooms and everything. He knows what that means for his wife and daughter…but L and him are the only ones going to be surveiling his house.they plan to install the bugs and cameras the next day, when no one is home.
Light comes home from school to find it is empty. he finds his door knob out of place. L does not find it odd that Light goes to such lengths to secure his room even with a red herring. in addition to that, there was a peice of lead in the door. If it broke, someone was in his room…He concludes that if it were his mom or sister, they wouldn’t notice the paper, but it was put back into place. He devises a plan to make them think he is nothing more but a mere teen hiding his stash of Adult Magazines. He also cons Ryuk into finding all of the bugs and cameras for an apple. before ryuk goes into withdralws (at which point we see ryuk with some real concern on his face xD). Ryuk agrees.
The magazines don’t fool L. He thinks it is making a statement of “this is what i was hiding, im innocent.” At this point L tells Yagami that Light is a suspect. Ryuk begins his Camera search, and finds one, proving that his home is bugged and camera filled. He had previously prepared the magazines in a case like this. His sister calls him down for dinner. As they are watching TV, L tells them to play the news bulliten on every chanel, the one about 1,500 agents from aruond the world being sent to Japan. Light scoffs, and says that the ICPO are stupid for posting this, and they should keep it secret. He finishes dinner and devises a plan tohide the fact he is still killing criminals as he is being surveyed. Being ambedextrious, he does homework with one hand, and with the other, writes on a piece of death note that is hidden in the bag of chips, along with a mimi TV so he can see criminals names. Ryuk tells Light that there are 64 total cameras in the room alone.
Watari then reports that two criminals have died of heart attacks. L says that the Yagami’s actions have been so clean, its almost funny….

- Im noticing more and more though, that as Light ponders his next move, it seems to take a while, and his expressions change for almost 10 seconds at a time…wouldn’t someone notice that…?xD
