Idea: Basically, the idea of this layout was to make it easy to navigate, good for death note, and as Guan demonstrated, she included all of the main characters. The banner was pretty complicated, and Shaza drew the strings on the extra demons on the side, to make it look like they were dangling a puppet. Shaza actually got the idea from the Godfather cover for that.

Procedure: This layout was a bit complicated. I wanted to use bright blue and red (as default internet explorer colors) since I was really not that happy with the Ryoko layout I did, and wanted to make up for it. To do this, I wanted to make a table layout with the new Death Note movie. Since the image was with real people, I had never worked with real people in a layout before, I wanted to go for the old web design look of retro-gothic. Hence, I made it pretty simple with navigation. I used a lot of brushes in the background actually, to blend out the colors, since solid shapes and vectors would have directly contradicted with the human images, and just seemed sort of wrong. For the headers, I made them images with switching fonts since I though the last site navigation was a bit more complicated. At first I got complaints on it being a little too dark, but my co-admin Guan fixed it up and it works perfectly well now. The layout took around 4 hours to do because of the editing and piecing together of the content and navigational areas. The interesting part was making the bottom header transparent (since I wanted the background repeat to go perfectly repeating within it. It was really cool this way.
