HOW TO USE IT: (page 8-11)
The story begins with how Beyond Birthday tries to kill his third victim. He is basically testing to see if an unconscious person can die of internal bleeding without damage to their internal organs. However it ends up in failure and Beyond Birthday draws his knife for the kill.
The narrator stops this description and tells what this Note is really about. What is important is L, the greatest detective of this century. L solved over 3,500 difficult cases, and sent over three times that number of criminals to jail.
The narrator says that this story is a L-Note and his note. He thinks that big-headed Near bastard will be the first to find this and if that was the case, he’d probably rip and burn it up. He wants Near to suffer, because he knew of an L that even Near didn’t know. Or perhaps the note will end up in the hands of Kira, which he also wishes. Unlike L, Kira needs to rely on the power of the Death Note and a brainless Shinigami.
The narrator says he is one of the few people in the world that met L, and this Beyond Birthday case is one of his most important memories of L. Why this case is important is because it was the first case L called himself Luxaky (Ryuuzaki).
And finally the narrator reveals that he is Mihael Keehl, or Mello, I was once called that, but that was a long time ago.
A good memory, a nightmare.
